Hi folks Hit a bit of a snag with the wife's car. Had to disconnect the battery while doing some work on the car last week. After finishing the work I discovered a problem, which I can only assume is caused by incorrect disconnection of the battery, in turn causing a corruption of the BSI.

I have replaced all my locking bolts with regular bolts as the original locking bolts were notoriously difficult to remove and two of them had to be removed If the car starts you might just have a low remote battery (should come up in the central display though) but if it's completely dead you might need the key recoding. If it's just the remote function not working then it's probably like my key, having been dropped there's something bust in the circuit so it only works as a traditional key; not Matija83. Just remove the emergency key from the fob, turn once to the rear in the driver's door to lock and again within 5 seconds to deadlock. Doing this will not activate the alarm.

7. Defective key fob. If your C4 key fob stopped working after you dropped it on the floor, you may have damaged the internal chip. Or, if your key fob just stopped working one day out of the blue, in rare cases this could indicate a faulty key fob – assuming you have tried everything to fix the issue e.g. battery replacement, reprogramming and the spare key fob works.

Turn ignition on and off quickly 4 times, remove key from ignition, you will then hear tone, point ignition key towards interior light and operate the central locking. This will reset it. xY2UTjx.
